Cuc Phuong National Park

The national park is a good place to get away from the hustle and bustle for a night or two in very pleasant surroundings. There is accomodation available, basic but comfortable and not too expensive.

The park is 45km from Ninh Binh. Take Hwy 1 north for 11km, then turn west along the same road that goes past Kenh Ga. There is no public transport.

Admission to the park is D40,000.

Among the park's attractions are the Endangered primate Rescue Centre and the "Cave of Prehistoric Man" an archaeological site. Some pleasant day hikes can be undertaken without supervision while longer treks can be arranged including an overnight trek to a Muong village and rafting on the Buoi River
